I often notice a lack of accountability, which stems from unclearly defined responsibilities. Essentially, there are roles with unspecified duties and expectations, yet there remains an expectation of accountability for these undefined responsibilities. When a team-member is promoted, clearly define and communicate their new responsibilities to everyone, ensuring transparency in the change of responsibility.

Como manager de ingeniería es evidente que establecer objetivos y expectativas d reforma clara y directa es lo más recomendable, no obstante mejoe todavía es realizar esto conjuntamente con el propio equipo de trabajo. Vamos allá. Celebrad una reunión, por ejemplo mensual, donde se debata acerca del producto en el que se está trabajando, siguientes features y prioridades a establecer, fijando checkpoints para hacer seguimiento de los avances logrados por el equipo. Como manager deja que el propio equipo time este tipo de decisiones y fije las prioridades en cuanto a los proyectos a ejecutar, esto les dotará de una autoexigencia muy sana de cara a lograr las metas.

A team of engineers are not going to have the wool pulled over their eyes easily, and will be twice as skeptical if you are trying to undo a situation where an environment of distrust has reigned. Provide the data, voice your interpretation of the data, and encourage others to offer their take on the results. People that believe their input matters will see such opportunity as an effort to change the working environment within the organization.

Establece dinamicas personales, 1:1 con cada integrante del equipo para entablar conversaciones directas y sinceras donde se puede hablar de desafíos y de las expectativas sobre el colaborador. También son tan abiertas que pueden fluir otros temas en función de las necesidades de ambos, sobre todo del colaborador. Además de las ceremonias personales como el 1:1 se pueden fijar otras ceremonias como la retrospectiva que puede tener una agenda mensual de cara a revisar los logros obtenidos y los puntos de mejora del equipo.
