I would add that a company culture plays a major role. What I mean is that in certain companies this is embraced through know-how sharing communities. It will also greatly depend if you are able to join a wider, online community if your company uses ERP from major providers. In other cases (i.e. self developed ERP) it is important to ensure you are surrounded with experts that are willing to share their learnings, ideas and finally enable you to reach their level as quickly as possible.

4 How to benefit from ERP mentorship

To make the most of your ERP mentorship, you need to be proactive, committed, and responsive. To benefit from your mentorship, set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) to clarify what you want to learn and how you will measure your progress. Before each session, prepare questions, topics, or challenges to discuss with your mentor. During the session, take notes of the key points and tips. Afterwards, follow up with your mentor to thank them and summarize what you learned. Lastly, follow through with your commitments and goals and update your mentor on your achievements and challenges.
