Working in any role that involves communicating with and engaging individuals or even communities who may be experiencing challenges and trauma requires those personnel to be clear about their motivations and what they want to achieve from their interactions. It also requires empathy and all the background work that enables and individual to get clear on their own personal values, ethics and the information that informs their narratives about the individual and community. Collaborative working through multi-disciplinary teams requires that everyone puts the clients needs to the forefront and personal judgement and ego aside.
