Before starting any experiment review the SOPs for that specific experiment. You should be clear about the procedure and clear any confusion before starting. You can use a checklist for your ease to make sure that you are performing each step correctly and that not a single step is missed during the whole process.

I agree. Another reinforcing part of reviewing the protocol is doing something we refer to as a “dry run” of the protocol. That way we ensure that our lab partner knows where things are, have a visual representation of what order materials need to be used in, and can ask questions to clear up any nuances or complexities in the process. This reinforces any clarifications needed and helps with time management for efficient execution the first time around.

One thing ive found effective to ensure we both give the same results is by doing the same test seperately to see if we both understand the method and can give the same expected results.
