People buy people ultimately. So why you need to display your experience effectively and coherently. You also need to ensure you don’t come across as a dick or someone who is arrogant or egotistical. You need to clearly and concisely communicate what your own values and EVP are. What’s your own mission statement by being a consultant in this field and what you’re aiming to achieve. Often giving out advice, materials and insights is a quick fire way to build a profile and gain credibility on this platform and externally. You want to be clear that what you’re saying is facts or an opinion and where they’re coming from.

Building your personal brand as a consultant in Global Talent Acquisition requires a distinct strategy. Start by consistently sharing insights and expertise through blogs, social media, and speaking engagements, demonstrating your knowledge. Talk about what you know. I follow so many people and almost universally, the thing that those contributors all have in common, is that they know their niche and they stick to it. If you're not an expert, don't offer the advice. Offer a perspective... ask a question or two and show humility in your approach to learning. A GP knows a little about a great deal. A consultant or specialist knows a lot about a narrower subject matter. In a world of 'specialists' who are mile wide, inch deep.... be the specialist, who is inch wide and mile deep. Stick to what you know, give your perspective and ideally try not to preach. Confusing matters of opinion and fact is a slippery slope.

One thing I have found helpful is really becoming an expert in your niche. I recruited for the elevator and escalator industry for a few years and the first thing I did was learn what an elevator engineer or technician does on a day to day basis, what equipment they work on, how they do it, what is great about the role? What is awful about the role? etc. You don't just need to sound credible in your niche, you need to BE credible.

I can only agree with the this, know who you are and what you are good at and make sure that managers are aware of that too. Play to your strengths and you can be the SME but through this your own network will reflect that, if it is strong then the whole of your Network become members of the team.

Try to create a reputable online presence by sharing not only the jobs that are available in your company but also guidance on how to land a job successfully. Educational content tends to receive the most attention as it is very beneficial.

First off you'll want to establish a professional online presence by building a personal website, uploading a high quality professional profile photo, creating profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms. Ensure your online profiles showcase your expertise and your achievements.

Especially in TA or Executive Search roles, its important to build your online profile. Leaders want to engage with knowledgeable recruiters who have a voice in the industry. This helps build trust and long term relationships with candidates. Be the Go to TA in your industry.

Working with leaders and executives is a great market to be a specialist in, they are decision makers and need someone that can get them what they need so they can concentrate on their business. Make your profile reflect that.

It's easy to stay behind and follow other people's opinions. It's harder to actively try to shape up a space by voicing your own opinions. Not everyone is going to agree with you. You will spark debates and get not only support but engage with people who have differing perspectives. Many shy away from being opinionated, afraid of tripping over. Being opinionated is what will allow you to engage and learn, as well as be the driving force between certain trends, positioning you further as an expert in your field. As always however, stay humble and don't be afraid to addend your opinions or admit when you were wrong about something; this is key.

A lot of us shy away from sharing our opinions and views. We fear the following aspects: Not feeling validated Being judged Not being liked enough Confronting highly reactive audience But you know what "YOU'VE GOT THIS". Focusing on external perspectives (feedback not just from other experts but stakeholders) will help you connect the dots between relevant disciplines and will allow you to reflect internally and adapt leading you to an elevated reputation as someone who comes in from a gobal talent acquisition angle but can impact the wider business as you took in perspectives from different fields. For example, a Talent professional who really understands go to market or product development's perspectives on TA makes for a more complete partner that sees the global picture and can bring a bigger business impact!

Creating a brand has become all about speaking your truth. The more authentic and real you come across, the more audiences will be drawn to you. Few psychological facts: 1) We are subconsciously drawn to novelty (something new) 2) Consistency subconsciously builds trust Therefore, audiences are looking for bold, authentic, unabashed, novel, whistleblowing, edgy and stimulating content. Where audiences must connect with creator on a level - where you don't know each other but are together in this endeavor.

I believe, this is the most important piece of advice! Consistency is key - that's for sure. If you want to build your personal brand, a post "here and there" will not be enough. You need to commit to posting at least once a week and be as visible as possible in commenting / liking relevant things. But also, find "Your voice". Tap into your strengths, into what makes you truly YOU. And utilise it in your Headline, in your posts etc. People feel when someone is authentic and it's very attractive and refreshing. ??

If you're not being true to yourself then people won't buy what you're selling. Talk about things you value and care about, develop your intellectual curiosity to ensure you know as much as you can from all sides. Share regularly and be proactive and develop your business acumen. A personal brand is really critical these days, they require regular work and attention

Its not just about the followers. Real success should be measured by the impact your create. Don't expect to become an overnight brand influencer. Don't be in a hurry, it takes years to build a solid brand and a strong network Its a lot of consistent efforts through various trials and errors.
