I completely agree with this. Emails and townhalls can be used for more formal communication whilst instant messaging can be used for quicker dispersion of communication. First, you need to Understand the types of challenges your team may experience away from each other ie; loneliness, a sense of exclusion, safety and security, etc and incorporate communication points to cater to making these challenges a little easier on your teams. Get the team together on a group chat where movements and achievements can be celebrated on the group. This encourages an instant sense of reward and recognition without needing a larger platform like company townhalls or conferences

Trust starts with respect and empathy. In the beginning, leaders should encourage team members to talk about their experiences, the value they hope to add to the team, and how they prefer to work. This allows colleagues to form mental images of each other when they later communicate via email, phone or instant messenger. Remember that building relationships should be an ongoing process. While co-located employees talk about their lives, virtual teammates do so much less frequently. Take five minutes at the beginning of your video call for everyone to share recent professional success or personal news. This is the easiest way to overcome the isolation that occurs when people don't work together in the same office.

Cuando un equipo está disperso geográficamente, es fundamental impulsar la comunicación a través de diversos canales y no solo digitales. Por supuesto las publicaciones internas, tipo revistas, newsletters, etc. ayudan, pero es importante establecer canales más cercanos, con un tono más coloquial como la mensajería instantánea, en la que todos puedan comunicarse entre sí de manera fluida. Aunque suponga un esfuerzo adicional, en esos casos, es necesario fomentar el contacto personal en ocasiones, mediante la visita de los responsables de la compa?ía a las diversas sedes y los eventos presenciales.
