Thus, making your GitHub profile look as good as it can be is as critical as making your literal paper resume look good. A big part of this is having substantial and consistent activity on your calendar which shows what days you have committed code in the past year. It is a great idea to do all of your code tutorials and personal projects on GitHub because of this. You do not need to make all of these repos public however, you still get credit on your calendar for commits to private repositories. Additionally, once you are ready for it, it is excellent to have contributions to open source projects on your GitHub as well.
