In my experience, monitoring and updating is vital. You can put in a ton of security measures but if you don’t monitor them or make sure to update as needed, they will easily fall behind. Make sure you track new threats and risks and adapt your security to address them. Make sure you are updating signature databases to ensure new malware and tracked by your systems. And make sure you update access as changes in your organization occur so that there isn’t access allowed by accounts that should be removed.

Therefore, you need to plan for incidents and disasters and prepare for recovery and continuity.
