Create a target audience. Cater your posts and consumed media to that goal. You can start by posting relevant news, your projects, updates, insights into any processes and so on. Also, try to comment on posts from influential people in the space. You never know which line can open the door to more opportunities.

The reason why diversity is needed is that typically, especially if a project is targeting 18-24, urban youth culture leads (i.e. hip hop). Either one of two things is happening: 1) this arena is completely disregarded in terms of concept and/or team 2) this arena is just seen as a culture grab with no real vision nor authenticity. I cannot stress how important is it to have a consultant(s) and/or agency partner specifically in this area. Because these technologies are more immersive a true strategy in this area is even more critical than the traditional space. Create true business partnerships & don't just ask for feedback w/out providing a reciprocal benefit to those who have expertise in the space. Cultural intelligence is everything.

For me, diversity and feedback in the XR industry means connecting with and viewing engagement in every XR group I can find. The most valuable communities for me are the Discords of development groups, such as XR Bootcamp, news pages and sources, such as Charlie Fink and the r/AR_MR_XR Reddit page, and especially all of the Discords of the smart glasses development groups like Qualcomm Snapdragon Spaces, TCL RayNeo Developer, XREAL’s, Rokid’s, LAWK’s, Varjo’s… all of the smart glasses and other XR companies have Discords. These communities are the best place to find people from all over the world that have industry-leading experience and insight into areas you may think only exist in your dreams.
