How can you become a CAD expert in three months?

1- Identify which software and why you are looking to be expert in it 2- Try to install trial version to discover it and you can watch some YouTube video 3- Contact a good trainer cause he/she know the path very well and he/she can help you to get the level in short time 4- Make many exercises and try to challenge your self to make projects from simples to complexes 5- Consult forum to see the problems of other people and try to find the solutions.

After choosing the software you need, get a good tutor! Online resources are good, but getting to understand in detail the reason behind an action and the nuances involved is an easy way to greatly improve in a short time.

Choose a software that seems the most approachable to you, at least for a start. You may switch later, but choose one which you can learn easily. It'll help you understand the CAD capabilities as a whole domain and you'll eventually start exploring the infinite possibilities. Later on, you can move towards a specific direction such as plastics, BiW design, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), PDE (Product Design Engineering), Rapid Prototyping, etc. This will help you to attain mastery and expertise by means of practice and courses.

I got started at my local community college over 30 years ago learning AutoCAD. I immersed myself early and grew as I worked. That method served me well during my time in the industry. Now that I am a Dual Enrollment instructor, I offer four CAD softwares to my students and plan to add a fifth to my seniors next spring. A senior that has completed four classes with me typically log 350-400 seat hours. My most advanced students take what they learn in class and back that up with online tutorials and extra practice work. Former students I have kept up with that are now active in the industry have told me they did the same. A good foundational knowledge and practice are the keys to success!

Now that you've chosen your domain, and practiced decently enough, you can move onto learning the advanced tools. You can start learning animations, rendering, simulation, integration of electronic (embedded systems) components, functional testing, digital twins, etc. There's no actual end to such expertise and the more you wish to learn, the more you can explore. If need be, you can also enroll in formal courses or programs to be proficient with proper training and development.

In my experience, simulation (motion study) was the critical thing. In some point you might be bored while trying to learn everything about CAD by yourself. When I am in that position I started to learn simulation and rendering in Solidworks and that brought my curious again. Briefly, try to expand your skills in motion study also that will make a difference.

Because a new feature may have reduced a process that you used to do in 3 steps to one step. Practice & consistency is the key to mastery in CAD. Try various types of 3D modeling, try to use innovative ways to tackle problems and find solutions for the same. The same problem statement can be tackled in many ways. You can approach & apply different design methodologies to deliver the most accurate design with a greatly efficient workflow. I attended a CSWA workshop a few years ago with the intent of learning what it would take to earn this industry credential. My outcome fell just short of my own CSWA (to no surprise as I knew that 25 hours was not enough seat time on Solidworks) but the facilitator conceded that 40-50 seat hours would be the minimum needed to pass an IC exam - if one had prior CAD knowledge. I believe with three months (480 seat hours), the goal is easily achievable - especially with prior knowledge of CAD.

Ser un CAD Expert no solo se limita al programa que elijas, se necesita entrenamiento e interconexxion entre otras aplicaciones, como visualizadores, hojas de calculo, macros,etc ademas de conocimientos en materiales, tolerancias geometricas y dimensionales, tratameintos termicos, acabados superficiales asi que al menos para ser un profesiona y luego experto se requiere de una formacion de al menos 2 a?os en distintas disciplinas enfocado en la aplicacion.

Experto es un término relativo, 3 meses te podría dar un fundamento de la interface y herramientas del CAD software si lo trabajas 40 por semana mínimo. Como bien dices 3 meses ser experto es cómo el término "Conviértete en millonario sin invertir desde tu casa" es tan ilusorio solo pensarlo. Experto es una palabra muy grande para decir he incluso los que hemos tomado en CSWE de Solidworks sabemos que el conocimiento que requiere es bien básico en el mundo de herramientas y técnicas que SW tiene. No tiene sentido saber usar el CAD rápido si no conoces de manufactura,Design intent,DFM,DFA etc.
