If a consumer needs approximately 6 touch points before taking action, you can think of the early touch points as national and the later touch points as local. The layers work together in unison.

In many cases I’ve prioritized building the local marketing plans as a way to “fill the gaps” from the national plan. That can be a lot of things from menu news, media mix, rollover, relevance to target markets, etc. As other needs and opportunities arise, those are then further layered in to support the franchise locations strategic business priorities.
