Cash, assets/equipment, knowledge, people, time, etc. all fall under this umbrella—and each of these resources deserves respect and care. If you have done it before and know the processes and people, it should help. Else, all the pointers mentioned apply but it ultimately boils down to the team on board. Try to keep some buffer, wherever possible and dare I mention, use technology and tools to make everybody's life easier if you can - these are not necessarily always evident in non client facing processes/systems.

Within a program, stakeholder feedback concerning new resource needs of one project and earned value from a different project can be complementary in the monitoring and adjusting work. In some cases, the earned value from one set of projects can be used to address new resource needs from another set of projects. When these opportunities arise (and when managed effectively), it can be possible to shift value/resources from one project to another without needing to allocate additional resources from the program’s reserves. A strong program management approach will ensure that the benefits of this re-allocation are shared across all the affected projects, which will best lead to buy-in from all stakeholders.
