Not every event you will be able to choose location of your booth, but you can (almost always) pay for and play with additional signage and promotional opportunities to direct traffic to your booth. I’ve seen great examples of hanging banners and floor graphics directing people to booths, and well as creating additional engagement opportunities and social media moments.

Simple, find ways to create a buzz before they even enter they event. Social media is strong way create excited, you use it to create a build up before the event day. Do that and the booth location wouldn't matter, attendees will be looking for you. We used this strategy for Ford in Chicago at the Black Women's Expo.

A couple things to keep in mind are your allotted booth space and what makes sense for your booth for what offering you're trying to communicate. If you want attendees to stick around, make sure your space can accommodate standing space. If all you've got are a tent and table, keep things moving by having your swag at one side and your flyers and one-pagers at the other. Information can be conveyed in short looping videos on mounted screens. The videos are to get people to stop for a second, giving your booth crew an opportunity to start a conversation.

I suggest giving something to take with them. This way the potential customer remembers your business later or. Depends of course on your target group and goals. A flyer or a business card seems a bit old fashioned already. A pen, free sample, or candy are classics. But how about a transfer tattoo, mini puzzle, a free tip, tea bag, balloon (an empty one), candle… what ever the others are not giving out. Of course: get their contact information and give yours to them!

In my opinion, people need to be heard. Listening is the key. Be curious, comment, and help in any possible way. Take notes and connect the notes to the contact information you get from the people. This way you can add a nice little detail you “remember” from your encounter. This makes people feel special.

Make eye contact and smile. These simple things will encourage your visitors to open up and tell you what their needs and desires are. Be sure to make the conversation more about them than it is about you. When someone walks away from a conversation, it will be most memorable to them if they did the majority of the talking. Be sure to get contact information and ask them if you can follow up with them.

This one is the most important, but not too hard: be welcoming and friendly with everyone who may be indicating interest in your booth. Even if you're engaged in a sales discussion with another client, try to briefly say hello to new visitors and let them know you'll be with them shortly. And keep an eye on the passerby -- if you're looking at your phone, they may not want to bother you and keep walking.

Create an activation or experience within a booth. Could F&B or some type of immersive experience. The key now is decision makers want to be able to feel or experience the product within booths so that commercialization can happen at a quicker pace

Avoir créé du lien sur le stand c’est une chose, l’entretenir après l’événement ?a en est une autre : l’effervescence de l’événement est retombée, la vie a repris son cours et c’est là que le plus dur est à faire…mais pas impossible ??. Faire rappeler à votre prospect ce qu’il l’a fait venir sur votre stand, éventuellement un second petit cadeau pour l’amadouer ??, mais surtout lui faire comprendre les bénéfices apportés par l’utilisation de votre solution/produit.

You need to start attracting people to your booth as soon as you have a booth number or a location. Ideally months before the event. Start building the anticipation of in person meeting and experiences, make it an unmissable opportunity to connect, explore and interact in person. Start promotion of your participation well in advance.

If it's a specialized event, visitor profiling and invitation is much easier because it's targeted. In any event or trade shows, you need to send an invitation that will make them feel they are special. Set a meeting ahead and assure their attendance. Booth visibility is best but for booths located somewhere at the back, your sales people can meet them at the entrance making them feel they are special. The goal is to bring them inside your booth. Prepare food or drinks and samples of your products while discussing and having a meeting. Let them talk, ask questions and listen to them while inside the booth. Actual demonstration can be done. The goal is to close a deal.

Remember to keep the booth easy to access. Be present, no hiding behind tables or desks. Use open gestures to invite people in and stay active even if the booth is sometimes not so busy. Wear clothes that show your business: qr code to the back of your suite might be mind blowing!
