Action and Change: I can be used to generate insights and recommendations that can help users make informed decisions and take action on important issues. I can be used to create tools and resources that empower users to learn and grow in meaningful ways.

Transformative learning theory is applicable in every educational sector for change according to the situation, new course introduction, and training, it helps people to understand and try to transform themselves to learn new things. It must be in a convening mode, clarity, and interesting to the students to transform themselves to adopt it. Some times confusions, they need perfection in the learning process, examples, and doubts clarification.

This is quite aligned with Gert Biesta theory of a world centered education where the students and teachers keep the world at the centre and are stakeholders in the process. The idea of asking challenging questions and the notion of bringing grown-upness into the education environment also can pave way for this transformative journey. This helps the students and teachers to cocreate experience and endeavors using varied and diverse skills to help the world and bring in more humanity to the world

Transformative learning isn’t just for academic institutions. It’s just as important in a business setting because as L&D professionals, it’s all about iterating on your teaching and learning beliefs to help others succeed in their roles. By practicing transformative learning ourselves, we can make sure any learning opportunity we offer is impactful, motivating and created with the goal to truly change the lives of others.

By flipped classroom technique, case based learning and by being a facilitator instead of monotonous classroom teaching I use to apply transformative learning theory at my institution.

To apply transformative learning theory: 1) Assess current teaching methods and curriculum. 2) Provide faculty workshops on transformative learning. 3) Redesign courses for experiential learning and dialogue. 4) Promote student engagement through active participation and reflection. 5) Foster community partnerships for real-world learning. 6) Develop assessment tools for transformative outcomes. 7) Continuously review and adjust teaching practices based on feedback.

Right from the planning process educators can use strategies like bringing the design thinking process , or use the ACT model (Acquire- Connect-Transfer) etc. In the classroom students can be taught by mimicking real world scenarios to solve problems and create solutions by designing learning experiences using the GRASPS strategy. Bring more of design thinking process for students to develop their self directed learning can also help in this process

A great way to qualitatively assess the impact of a learning is using Kirkpatrick evaluation model. Other ways to collect personal developments on learning and it's impact will be by using the Experiental learning cycle to map amd develop the skills and knowledge acquired at each stage of the learning process

You can assess the impact of transformative learning by comparing the thoughts and beliefs of your subject at the beginning of the learning sessions and at the end

The success of implementing transformative learning depends on conducting a comprehensive needs analysis. This analysis should cover both top-down and bottom-up considerations, ensuring that the learning approach meets the requirements of both the institution and its staff. Leaders must carefully choose and adjust a learning model to meet the needs of the institution and its staff. For example, if a school aims to introduce a new teaching method, it cannot simply do so for the sake of novelty. It must also evaluate the method from the teachers' perspective to determine if it addresses their needs. Teachers will only adopt the new method if they see the need to do so.
