1 Know your audience

Before you communicate your ideas, questions, or feedback, you need to understand who you are talking to and what they care about. Different team members may have different roles, goals, motivations, and expectations. For example, a stakeholder may want to see the big picture and the impact of your solution, while a technical expert may want to see the details and the feasibility of your solution. You can use tools such as empathy maps, personas, or stakeholder analysis to gain insights into your audience and tailor your message accordingly.

??Agreed that we all look and describe what’s in front of us differently. This could be because we are primarily expected to deliver within the scope of our work/skillsets. ??Should a CPS project be innovation related, we could encourage more out of the box and interdisciplinary learning styles through design thinking for instance where we create user profiles and chart their journeys by being in their shoes through role play or story telling. This will mean we can convey the same message to all in terms of a problem statement regardless of expected jobscopes/skillsets.

Knowledge of the people you will be communicating to matters most. Take your time and know your audience, their niche I am currently hosting an online Webinar and I invited one of our speakers and gave him the invitation for the event the first question he asked me was Who are the audiences? Take enough time and know those who will be listening to you. Know their education level, know their exposure level, etc.

Communication is not only about sending your message, but also about receiving and understanding the message of others. Active listening is a skill that involves paying attention, showing interest, asking questions, and paraphrasing what you hear. To practice active listening, you should avoid distractions, maintain eye contact, use positive body language, and acknowledge the speaker.

Define Expectations First. Any thing that involves people, I do outline some unpleasant expectations from people. For example, I do register to myself that: => people may not look at me the way I want. => I May sacrifice more than I think. => I may fail to get people all along And many more. The next thing after brainstorming the above, is to outline atleast three solutions or alternatives in case those things happen and when any of them is about to happen I could clearly sees it and take proper action before it does.
