1 What is XP?

Sure, you can use XP to have fewer bugs. All the old XP folks have stories of projects taking a quarter or a year and coming in with test teams finding ZERO bugs during a testing phase. But that's not what's interesting about XP quality. XP comes from a long tradition of first OO and then Patterns thinking to have a MUCH more expansive notion of quality. Quality in XP is primarily "How much does it cost (time + $) to make a change", not "how many bugs" And on that count, XP is magnificent in a way that traditional and process-centric Agile can't even conceive of. Huge numbers of tiny tests, social programming, and small steps for CI fundamentally change developer incentives to make hard-to-change software no longer a choice

XP leverages several practices to achieve this, such as user stories which capture the requirements in short and simple statements from the perspective of the user. Test-driven development requires developers to write automated tests before writing the code, to define the expected behavior and outcome of the functionality. Refactoring allows developers to continuously improve the design and structure of the code, eliminating duplication, redundancy, and inefficiency. Finally, YAGNI (You Aren't Gonna Need It) ensures developers only implement functionality that is necessary and requested by the customer, avoiding overengineering and speculation.

4 How does XP ensure feedback?
