Canva makes it easy to create images. Combined with Ai, you can make crazy cool images. Let's say you have one image and 3 lines of text... take the image from Canva, and then make the slide in something like PowerPoint so you can have each line of text disappear as you move through your presentation. That way you avoid text heavy slides. I know a presenter who takes images of people and then puts audiences heads on the images to really get the audience involved in her talk. It's also very funny ??

In planning designs, it is useful to find out in advance the varied cultures of your audience so you can speak to their expressions and norms. Using references from many different cultures brings familiarity for people, they tend to be more attentive as they feel directly addressed, and they learn about how others express ideas and information likewise. Having such a wide variance of cultures in programs, when you bring in a familiar element you capture their interest and there is built-in psychological safety, that often leads to a more cohesive exchange of thoughts, ideas, and participation.

They say A picture is worth 1000 words... so use a picture and say the words. Rule of thumb, 6 words or less on a slide, unless it's a quote slide. If using a graph put up the picture of one big graph, and talk about it. Don't put the words on the graph, just the titles. Use pictures that elicit emotion, big images that enhance your point

Visual representation of anything can improve the learning experience of anything and everything. In my line of work, i teach physics to senior secondary students and it makes it a lot more easier to teach difficult topics like torque, waves and SHM if we use Visual animations or designs.

I appreciate what this article says and I agree that images, illustrations, models and videos are important visual elements - however WE - the speaker - are a visual representation and that’s shaped by our appearance. Having a personal style builds this visual appearance. For example - I like wearing blazer / chinos / sneakers and I know others who like to wear formal suits. I know some people who wear T-shirts and prefer to dress more casually. The way we dress influences people before we start speaking and I encourage presenters to think about their visual style before they step in front of an audience.
