It would be useful, in my opinion, to truncate DDC numbers. It gets confusing fast for people that are already perhaps number-shy to deal with the call number of the book they want having multiple numbers behind the decimal point. Dewey already mapped out the 900s to follow a basic historical timeline within the countries, so that should suffice with proper signage.

Going forward: ask the LLM on your phone to classify everything it "sees" at the local library into a bespoke taxonomy. Then ask it to publish to other LLMs and negotiate to find common ground.

I'm looking forward to consolidating my own personal collection and loading it into LibraryThing so I have a better understand of what books I have. I want to stop in 2024 buying duplicate copies because I forgot if I already own it, and Goodreads' little "owned" box by a title on one of my shelves is not very helpful or easy to edit.
