I think it is important to remember that communicating your research in easily understandable ways and taking the time to concisely explain the more complicated ideas in your research is vital for showcasing research to the public, regardless of the format. Also, consider showcasing your research in multiple languages if presenting it on social media. The easier it is for someone who was not involved to understand, and the less hurdles someone has to get through to understand the research, the better.

I would add, if you can use pictures to show your parts of your research on social media, use pictures. Use as many as you can without diluting the points of your research and always remember to cite who took the picture, the date, etc. in the caption.

Always remember that when you post something online it will forever be on there, unless you take it down or the social media format shuts down completely. So, be careful with what you post and make sure to read and reread it before you post it online. Don't be afraid to recheck and edit after posting as well. Additionally, there is this phenomenon what I would call echoing where some people may somewhat copy or "echo" to varying degrees what you posted online in response. So, copyright where necessary, stay calm and professional in all situations, and be wise and strategic about how you post things online.
