Last Wednesday we had our annual volunteer day at May Dugan Center. GIE donated 610 turkeys! We helped pack and distribute lots of produce and pantry items as well. Another great year of supporting our friends at May Dugan Center!
Congratulations to Marissa who is celebrating 3 years at GIE this month! Best part about your job? The best part about my job is getting to meet tons of people across the recycling industry and seeing how their work impacts our day-to-day lives. I love telling their stories. Favorite memory of working at GIE? My favorite memory of working at GIE is not necessarily one memory, but all the time I’ve got to spend getting to know my colleagues and the relationships we’ve built. There are wonderful people at GIE and I’ve enjoyed working, traveling and spending time together. Thanks for all that you do Marissa!

Congratulations to Kelly who is celebrating 1 year at GIE this month! Best part about your job? I have been fortunate to work on publications in all our markets. It has taught me a lot about different industries and different audiences. It is also great because it has allowed me to get to know many of my coworkers! Hobbies/how you enjoy spending time outside of work? Going on walks with my husband and our 3 yr old Golden Retriever rescue. I also enjoy watching my stepson play in the HS marching band and visiting my son at the University of Dayton. Go Flyers! What is your favorite season? It is easily Summer for me. Happy Tuesday! Congratulations to Ryan who is celebrating 1 year at GIE this month. Best part about your job: My team. My fellow developers have not only been invaluable resources to learn from and work alongside, but I also consider them my friends. Hobbies/how you enjoy spending time outside of work: I'll try anything once! I primarily like watching movies, trying new food, visiting museums, checking out local events, and hiking. But most importantly, I love spending time with my wife, our cats, and our friends and family. Greatest accomplishment/something you are proud of during your time here at GIE: While I don't have any one thing I'd consider my greatest accomplishment, I'm proud of the changes I've made to make everyday tasks easier for our internal users and to make the user experience better for our readers. Best part about your job Not to go cliché but I really love working with my team and the collaboration between all of us, everyone is willing to help everyone else out. Helping launch and now head our Defense and Munitions publication and hosting the Manufacturing Groups webinars/podcasts has really helped me feel like part of the industry. Happy Monday! Congratulations to Amanda who is celebrating 3 years at GIE this month. Best part about your job? Definitely the people I work with! I get to work with the Manufacturing and Turf groups along with different departments across GIE. Everyone is so helpful when I have questions and I’ve felt very welcomed here since I first started. Hobbies/how you enjoy spending time outside of work? My husband and I love to travel and try to see at least 1 new place a year. Aside from that I enjoy spending time with our family and friends, trying out new restaurants, and of course the occasional Netflix binge watches with our cats, Winston and Churchill.
