How can a Scrum Master help the Development Team?

Scrum framework is easy to understand but not easy to adopt as the being Agile and doing agile is different pieces of the coin. Scrum guide us first follow value, principles 100 percent and make yourself adoptable with the process then think of tailoring but we are adopting scrum as per our choice and I would say incomplete scrum, which is not meant for the desired results. Ultimate goal is to remove the bottlenecks and delivering value to the client,getting shorter feedback loop is important for incremental and iterative delivery. Less planning and execute fast, fail fast and learn quickly is the motto to excel fast in the vast variety of project, thanks Happy learning.

The Scrum Master must recognize what is causing the impediment, even if it is the performance or lack of performance of a team member. Having the critical conversation with the team member is critical in resolving and moving forward for the team. We are servant leaders, but also coaches, and gentle truth providers.

Removing impediments is the core of servant leadership and servant leadership is the essence of a Scrum master. A Scrum Master must act quickly and be mindful of the work being completed and the current time in a sprint cycle. Scrum masters need to be connected to all aspects of the project. They must communicate with team, product owner, business elements, and possibly project or program depending on the project. This enables the Scrum Master to get answers and find solutions as quickly as possible.

What is impediments, basically it's roadblock conditions where any team member stuck in existing tasks and unable to start successor activity. I would say the front to other module may stuck and which can hamper delivery time and if the time increases of course the budget will increase. So what is the action items as a servant leadership mindset is ,analysis the problem quickly and remove the ?? blocker immediately to allow the team members to start the existing task quickly. It may require inter dependant team members discussion or sometimes outside projects, may be legal or administration issues, check with the responsible guys and get it solved. Thanks Deepak

SM needs to influence the team to address their issues and impediments using their own experience and knowledge. Be curious and experiment with different approaches to help the teams become self-organizing over time.

The great thing about self-organized teams is that they have higher morale and work ethic. They should understand the product goal when deciding on team structure. A team will adapt to changing work requirements better because they have the autonomy to change how the team works together to meet evolving customer needs from a position of understanding and not by one of appointment.

If the team is new to Agile, first step is to provide them with the tools to understand the mindset and the importance of becoming a self-organizing team.

The role of servant leader is to coach the team members, where they feel stuck and need quick decision with self analysis of the issue. As a coach we are not giving direct solution or hand holding to the coachee but we understand the problem statement ?? by active listening and make them comfortable that your conversation with me is safe and secret. By getting complete Insight in the curve of coaching we ask them where the coachee is good at and have he or she solved the similar problem in the past and shown them the path that they are capable to handle this situation.we are asking powerful questions starting that how you think this situation needs immediate attention, which trigger their mind. Coaching should be thought of in several different directions. Guiding individuals, guiding teams, growing individual skills, growing team skills, growing individual leadership, growing collective leadership. Coaching should always be dynamic and never in one direction. This should always be a dialogue with improvement and refinement guiding all actions.

Shield the Team: Protect the team from external distractions and interruptions. The Scrum Master acts as a shield, allowing the development team to focus on their work during the sprint.

Scrum master can help the development team in the following ways. 1. Facilitate all agile events so that the team can function smoothly. 2. Help the team in estimation techniques and iteration plannings 3. Collaborate with other teams or stakeholders to remove any dependency or impediment. 4. Coach the team on best agile practices. 5. Helps the team to make sure they are following the definition of ready (DoR) and Definition of done (DoD) for all user stories . 6. Makes actionable insights from sprint restrospectives.
