How can life coaches stand out in a crowded market?

For starters, I think there are plenty of us to go around and instead of competing with one another, just find your brand and personality and that will attract the clients best suited for your services. Clients want to identify with their coach and feel seen through mutual experiences. They also want to know their coach is professionally certified and are receiving coaching styles that truly benefit their journey. My goal isn't to compete but to shine light on how positive it is to work with a coach. I'm here to ensure my clients know I will help them to the other side of their confusion and pain. When a coach is clear about who they are and what they offer, all clients will win, as will the coaches.

Certains coachs décident de s'ouvrir "à tout le monde" et affiner au fur et à mesure les problématiques clients vers lesquelles ils se sentiraient plus à l'aise de se tourner. Je pense qu'il faut faire comme on le sent et ne pas se forcer à être dans une niche particulière au début ... On affine au fur et à mesure de la prise de conscience de nos appétences ,tout est mouvement ????

My niche is every person who is looking to attract positivity in their lives. I help children, and adults who are looking to heal themselves, find harmony in their lives, or are struggling with pain or certain patterns that they are looking to move away from. I help them find the root cause of their problem so it can be resolved.

I agree, it can help to have a niche so you can gain more experience with a segment of the market. A speciality or niche can help our expertise grow and evolve. However, my overall goal is helping people really evaluate their life and their intentions. IF someone wants to work on living more authentic and intentional, I would absolutely want to work with them as a client even if they don’t fit into the “niche” group —

My niche is anyone who has had a heartbreak or questions their ability to have a healthy relationship. These are questions that I am qualified to answer by experience and learning by listening to others. Sometimes we need someone on the outside to get in. I am that person!

Building a strong personal brand is a great way to stand out as a coach. It can be done in varied ways. Your tone of voice - what you say online in your own content + what you say as a guest on external podcast/shows + how you speak through your owned assets on email/website etc. And the key is to ensure this aligns with who you are when the client does meet you on a chemistry call/ session.

Update yourself. A life coach has to stay in touch with the new trends, new techniques, and embrace continuous learning. When you are able to handle multiple clients and make a difference in their lives, the confidence people have in you increases. Standing out and finding your niche will happen depending on your personality and the guidance you offer. Being mindful of what works is important in defining your practice.

During 2020-2023 period, coaching has been commoditized. There are hundreds of coaches and many have 'learnt' coaching from same master coach and follow the same program with pretty standard sales material and pitch. FIND your Uniqueness and use it to build your brand. While I am a Life and Career Transformation Coach as well as a SME focused Business Growth Coach; during my journey I realised 2 things (people started pointing them out to me) ... (1) I use a lot of movie references in my talks and coaching (2) I make people comfortably uncomfortable. This led me to embrace the branding of being the #FilmyCoach and #Uncomfortable in addition to my existing branding of being a #SuccessCoach

Be unabashedly you and showcase your uniqueness which includes letting them know how your background ties into your coaching (relatability factor). For example you coach corporate professionals - showcase how many years have you worked in corporate, worked in a predominately male industry, etc. depending on your niche. These little nuances help with the "they get me and where I am coming from/what I am dealing with".

Often in our efforts to promote our services, we get caught up in what we say, what we offer forgetting to learn. My learning as a coach happens in two ways . 1. Based on my interests 2. Based on client needs. If I am working with a client on certain aspects, I read up and gain knowledge on that subject to understand and support the client better.

I was telling my Coach yesterday, I have to accept that I am loud and splashy! I love the color orange, dancing at the supermarket, I am drawn to bright shiny things, quirky people and deep conversations. These characteristics sometimes turn people off, but they also bring laughter, light heartedness and fond memories to others. Authenticity matters. Your heart motive must align with your actions for people to be drawn to you. If you're loud and splashy, go ahead and let that shine! If you're quiet and reserved, capitalize on that comfort that draws people toward you. Your clients will be the exact ones that need what you offer and your career will flourish because of it.

I use my own experience to help others. I don't try to impose my view, I like people to bring their ideas, thoughts, and experiences to be able to find what is best for them. I love smiling, joy, and laughing. I am authentic; what you see is me :-) When I meet someone, I connect with his soul and not his physical body. Which means I connect with people no matter their color or their religion. Every person is a human being.

Yes, being authentic and genuine helps people know what to expect. Being yourself means the right people will align and be drawn to you!

Be clear on who you want to work with and who you will not work with. Decline clients who don't fit the kind of people you want to work with. While you have a framework and methodology, be flexible to adapt according to client needs.
