A business which adopts multiple FWA's is one which can go further into the candidate pool and find the very best talent. There are so many amazing people out there who cannot work full time so are wasting there skills doing other things. - Both the company and individual will benefit - The person will be engaged and loyal and productive and will be an advocate for the business - The company will likely have to deal with less sick days, and will reap the reward of a productive workforce. The only down side would be the administration around paperwork and schedules.

These "challenges" are choices made by people who aren't managing relationships. All it takes is to schedule a call and have a conversation to assess or eliminate "communication issues, coordination difficulties, performance management concerns, and cultural resistance." Employers can stop worrying about how to monitor, evaluate, and reward the performance of employees who work flexibly. Instead, they can have conversations to understand preferences and options for doing so. The most important thing to recognize about these "challenges" is that FWAs are a choice that will be made by some managers and opposed by others. "Culture" is not an accident. Intentional choices create it.

There are some challenges lets be honest, but managed correctly with the right communication then you can get past them fairly easily. - Different types of contracts need to be written up - Lots of scheduling to make sure hours and responsibilities are covered - Handovers each time - Communication with the client - Keeping those who are not on a FWA happy is also a consideration You would almost need a person to make this their responsibility, usually HR and or a traffic manager/ scheduler. But would 100% recommend.

All of the items on the left are accurate. The biggest problem people face is "knowing" to do these things and then not doing them. Too often, we're "too busy," or we forget to prioritize, schedule, and focus on the essential things. Practice these activities regularly to do them well, thoroughly, and frequently. Could you schedule recurring calls on your calendar to maintain boundaries and communication? Doing something frequently and well builds mastery. Knowing without doing is just entertainment.

As a TA & HR professional across Marketing & Media, here are the scenario I come across and could foresee coming across and best practice to achieve a FWA. - You already work for the business: You need to do the thinking for your company, cover all bases as to why a FWA would work and how it would work. - A new vacancy is available: The business should have already thought about this role being a FWA but if it has not and you are the candidate applying it can be tricky getting a company to consider a FT role as a FWA role. I would recommend applying for the role as is and once in the interview process run the FWA scenario past them, the worst they can say is no..
