How old is your product? If you have new requirement and product is bought in the last few years, consider asking why these requirements were not anticipated. If it's a new one that industry didn't anticipate, a statutory need or a change in business direction, as the predict of they plan to release an update. After all above only start assessing the value vs cost involved. Cost is the only that's involved in creating this but also in upkeeping and maintenence into the future. Is it still worth it? Then document and bring stakeholders
