How can Educational Leaders prioritize their time effectively?

But how do you determine what to tackle first when you don’t have enough time to do everything in one day? There is no artificial or mechanical way to prioritize your time unless you do it yourself. You know what your dreams are and you should first understand what your role and contributions are in any organization. But remember, your type of personality comes into play where time management is concerned . It is advisable to write a plan for your life-draw it like a timetable and only you have the ability to run that timetable to create your happiness. All we look for in this life are pathways to living productive yet happy and fulfilled dreams. Very much so. Assessing your situation will allow you to create your action plan , actions steps, establish SMART goals and establish your time line. Your action plan allows you to realistically and purposefully delegate as you can miss delegate by matching the wrong person with the wrong task; or over delegate by giving one person too many tasks. An action plan also helps you to measure and monitor your progress in a timely manner. This can contribute greatly to reduce and manage the stress that comes from being unable to meet your deadlines, whilst maximizing time management. Assessing your situation can also help you to evaluate your options and alternatives and factor them into your plan. This undoubtedly saves time and energy.

Change emphasis from teaching "content" to teaching "process". If we were to ask the readers to recall a parricular topic from grade 12 history or chemistry class, unless you taught this topic, how much do you recall or understand years or days later after the lesson was covered in class? I have seen many times , the "covering" of topics in a race against time (before the exam) but never slowing down to "uncover" the topic, and where students have long forgotten the content but can recall the emotional setting of the classrom. Wouldn't it be easier to ignite the passion for a subject? If education leaders include the "how we learn as well as the content", the student can continue the lesson long after the formal presentation.

Before even setting aside time for the task, it would be necessary to check whether it should really be carried out and why prioritize it. This is giving a degree of self-responsibility.

One of the greatest myths is "I don't have time. " We have time for what is important; we can either let our organization drive us, or we can drive it. There are three major actions: 1. Know your priorities and become a laser focus. 2. Declutter and simplify your mind. 3. Plan daily, weekly, and monthly how to develop the habits you desire. It is easy to get caught up in crises and be reactive versus proactive. It is easy to refuse to delegate, believing none are component or to avoid conflict. We must self-talk our vision and mission daily, and then give hard evaluations of how we performed. Have a trusted colleague? Have them observe with an intentionality to find the negatives. Positives make us feel good, but we must root out failure.

Time is what we make of it. Being a thoughtful and intentional communicator with your team opens up pathways for success. Too often we begin our day with a list of goals and objectives but don't plan for the unexpected- yes, planning for the unexpected is a mindset, not a list. Finally, while it feels wonderful to check off items from our list of responsibilities, not everything has to be done now. If we don't plan self care (even if that means setting boundaries for our work day), we won't have the mental and physical capacity to perform at our best.

In my own perspective and after having considered the contributions made by some dynamic leaders about this topic, I would like to add about the working attitude of the educational leaders because no matter how one leader assess himself and use some techniques in order to attain the goal as expected if he is not passionate to getting the work done with quality then most likely it would result to nothing or if there is it is half-baked. In other words the quality of the work is merely for compliance only. As one of the educational leaders I have to put my heart to my work so that I am able to accomplish the tasks within the time frame with quality, high impact to the students and stakeholders.
