How can economic outreach programs be tailored for specific communities?

Also determine what the needs of the community are. Have there been any historical examples of attempts on record that would give more insight as to factors establishing current economic conditions. Evaluation should focus on the equatable outcomes and necessary results to bridge economic value or vitality.

Generally, in order to be effective, the population profile of the territory, age, gender, educational level, most frequent economic activities, etc., must be understood. With this information it is possible to develop an attractive narrative to the profile, using examples oriented to their jobs, community characteristics, age ranges, socioeconomic profile, etc. And very important, know how to choose the media and the characteristics of the profile. From podcasts on the radio or Internet, short YouTube videos, to short executive summaries, images, etc.

I have been working solely with black immigrant communities in the West in the past years, and I would add two things: - Assessing Top Priorities: it is so important to assess the community's top and most urgent priorities in their terms. We sometimes see the long-term economic growth potential (like the talk out there saying that "Africa is the Future"). However, deconstructing the potential into concrete small-term wins and priorities, determines if the community actually advances. - Raising more awareness in the community about what's possible: sometimes, it can be tough to see past the challenges one community faces at one moment. Helping them to gain perspective on what's possible is key to having them engage for change.

Know your community that you are about to connect with. Is it Rural or Urban ? If dealing with Businesses - at what stage are they at ( Start-up/ Expansion/ Looking to Export ) ? Are they a member of an organization ( Chamber ) ? Are they from the same industry ( product / service ) and sector ? Most importantly are they part of a social economic group ( Black / Indigenous / Women / Persons with Disability / 2SLGBTQI+ / Visible Minority ) . These factors will shape your engagement , ask the community questions and feedback before a full engagement to ensure what you offer is being provided to the correct members of the community and that your message will be well received.

Consider taking inventory initially of local organizations. You should also focus on confirming communities they serve and making sure mission and focus of groups align with ideal economic strategies.

Ideally this is the first step to formulate any program. This allows an understanding of the specificities of the targeted community. As part of such an understanding a pilot group can be identified which can be involved in formulating the program itself. Such a pilot group needs careful selection as the members should be well entrenched in the community and have sufficient influence in the community to onboard the program and contribute to its success

Any collaboration must be based on mutual respect and faith in the program. Collaboration is also required to measure the impact of the program, especially the qualitative aspects of the outcomes.

Establish and create a system of tiered results that can be used and studied to consider or market economic impact from this. Utilize scorecard approach to keep measurement and agency over a results driven process.

As a kid, I lived in HUD housing for several years, We used food stamps and received government food at times. I ended up joining the military, which turned my life around.. As a kid I was surrounded by less than favorable conditions including drug use, alcohol and crime. My safe space was after hours in school playing sports . I feel financial literacy centers and training are key in low income areas. Education and training is the gateway to financial freedom. It appears that currently when the government allocates money, it never goes to the people it's absorbed by shady characters who run foundations and give kickbacks to corrupt politicians. We can send people to space and develop self driving cars, we can uplift people too.
