1 Design thinking

2 Urban design

I believe that we might need to use framework and tools from System Thinking to Empathize and Define an Urban Setup. In that way we could Zoom Out and Zoom In to get clarity of the Complex setup before working on the Ideation.

When looking at the design from a nature-informed perspective then the co-habitation between "nature" and "human" which we tend to differentiate has to be looked as one. One environment that is suitable not simply for "human" needs but involves all aspects of ecology to inhabit the urban spaces. Often projects are still driven by anthropocentric perspectives in cities and urban environments. Here there is a chance to put eco-centrism into practise. After all, if we tend to the natural world as a whole, it benefits all organisms in the end.

One thing I found useful is to experience ourselves by going through the Journey that the user/customer goes through to understand their feelings and pain points. That insight is so valuable in Service Design.

I would love to prompt the question on how we potentially can extend the service-design framework to more organisms beyond the human species and apply it to needs of future spaces that are biophilic by heart.
