Quality decisions improve stakeholder buy-in and as a consequence, the chances of successful implementation of a chosen course of action. Not only is this because one would have presumably involved different viewpoints, but a leader can more easily answer the question "what else did you consider and why did you decide not to go with those other options?" When people better understand the rationale for something, they are more likely to get behind it. A good decision-making process can make both pursuing the best option clearer, but also make it easier to communicate that with others in a way that helps them get behind it - including those who may otherwise have not agreed or believed in it.

Keep the collaboration and decision making processes under a KISS methodology (Keep it Simple and Straight forward). Also important to consider that decision support systems often highlight potential risks and uncertainties associated with different courses of action. As a leader, being able to communicate these risks transparently and clearly is crucial.
