First and foremost, you must be coachable. This means you need to be in the right headspace, mindset, and commitment zone. These tickets to entry make the ride a fantastic one. Secondly, you must find the right coach with the right chemistry. Judge with your gut not with what’s in their bio. If you feel they can help you improve then you’re probably right!

I honestly recommend all my clients to have a coaching session for all the leaders. The leader does not have to go through certification or credential processes. The awareness of coaching is important for them to become a better leader. In today's scenario, only with technical expertise, a person cannot become a leader. The leader should be a good coach for themselves & also for their team. By doing this, performance will raise up & team satisfaction index will go up

Sin duda, para mejorar tus habilidades de liderazgo, nada como un proceso de coaching ejecutivo. Hay diplomados, maestrías, etc., pero la realidad es que esos programas ya tienen un contenido preestructurado que bien no puede ser específicamente lo que requieres. En cambio, un proceso de coaching (al menos conmigo) es totalmente personalizado y ajustado a las habilidades que cada persona ocupe desarrollar. Por otro lado, el coaching te lleva a sí o sí, aplicar y con esto tener resultados inmediatos y palpables.

As Brené Brown said in her book "Dare to lead", a good leader is brave on showing his/her vulnerability and go through tough conversations. Show empathy and no sympathy it can make a huge difference. All this skill can be learned and a coach can guide you to rising strong in leadership.

Certainly the leadership position is going to either be a cake walk or bed of roses. Why do i say this?? 1. Cake walk will be slippery. Chances of falling will be high. 2. A bed of roses will have unnoticed thorns. Chances of getting hurt is high That is why i do not use both (bed of roses or cake walk) In this scenario, to handle the challenges, obstacles & crisis if the leader is good at managing these with coaching skills, it will be easy for them to handle themselves & the people around.

Curious as to where the profession is going, curious as to the challenges in the market, curious as to the future challenges (here I will slip into a SWOT reference to have a regular strategic reflection). Curious as to how you can enjoy the coaches dance even more... But never settling for the now will always have you pushing yourself and the profession forward. Enjoy!

By getting a certificate or credentials we will not become a good coach. Learning new models, tools, assessments etc.., will help us able to see more challenging situations in our career. Even a coach can have a coach. I personally have a "coaches learning cohort" where we discuss cases, models, new topics etc . It fosters creativity and gain great experience.
