Sorry to disappoint you here I am not a big fan of Networking events , they are little old school and rarely will amount to something concrete! , just check any top companies/ achievers do you ever hear hey that network event changed us …. ( never heard …)

So its not just attending networking events, I personally make it my goal to meet someone new everyday , be it through social media,socialising or events. I believe you need to always be building your relationships and network no matter who, CEO or Janitor. Opportunity is sometimes hidden in small corners.

A Yes , these conferences do attract like minded people & unlike goal less “networking events” there something concrete though of that people can take with them, this would be the right place & time to fine your mentors

I would say one if the best things you can do is to go to specific industry Conferences , but mostly to engage with industry peers, learn the dynamics , keep an eye on competition , see the latest trends and develop tactics accordingly
