As intern of Marine Engineering, keep learning and growing. There is no substitute of learning. Learning doesn’t mean mugging up the books only and not applying it. Marine Engineering is one of such profession where you can apply your theory to practical and vice versa. It’s engineering in action. So Make sure that as intern or trainee you are using your hands on these machineries with whom you will be spending considerable amount of time . With new technology and advancement one needs to remain abreast of the development. So be prepared to learn and apply throughout your internship and thereafter as well.

Daily routine jobs will keep you engaged for most of the time however it works on auto mode after sometime. So there are times when you need to see how and what best you can do to streamline the routine work and what additional initiatives u can take to cater otehr important work. When in real critical situations or some Planned maintenance tasks, how prepared you are and what additional value you can bring within team will determine and possibly improve your performance. Preparation is the key.

As a marine engineer I would say that teamwork and continuous learning are the key to naval development. It's important to have a good knowledge base in your field but not just limit yourself to that, but also look at best practice in other technical fields other than training. The smallest bit of information can help to optimise and improve performance, which is obviously an added value. Naval engineering is a truly formidable, exciting and non-routine field, which requires a good ability to adapt.

To show initiative at work, look for ways to improve things and take on extra tasks without being asked. Try to predict what might be needed, suggest solutions to problems, and take full responsibility for your work. Stay updated on new trends, keep learning new skills, and share your progress with your team.

Show willing but learn to listen. Most inter try to become clever in order to show knowledge but at the end this will lead them to mistakes. Most young people are stubborn and not like to listen so easy. But, the senior should my questions to the inter, in order to see what the inter knows or not.

Ofc team work is for seniors and all the team. Its not for inter only. Inter is not easy to come in contact high higher rank people. So its not up to him. It's up to seniors to give him access to talk to more people.

Team is not a word, its the whole essence of work, 1 1 1 1, if we put them without space it will become 1111, in team we are not i am, one for all , all for one, thats the team, In team all are equally important,

Academic knowledge is vital. Like pressure, temperatures, avoid hummering on pipings, understand why HFO want specific temp, or DO dont want. Which oil works where. According machine, viscosity, temp. Understand actual how viscosity works. But how much to tigh a valve or a nut or not to break a ratchet, is something that his hand will feel it by the time. Academic there, can't assist. In addition, manual cant say how to start a DG or a Purifier. Cause all the valves, pumps etc that connect to the machine, are out of the manual of Manufacturer.

In my college days, i read in our workshop, an ounce of practical than ton of theory, but also remember that to gain that ounce practical you must be thorough with theory also, Stick to basics, leave the high funda’s to researchers, IQ is important

The safety requirements and resik assessment is the first focal point you shall consider to avoid more delay and work stop due to unsafe behaviours and unsafe environment

In marine engineering, safety is very important. It helps to prevent accidents and protect everyone. Always follow safety rules, wear the right gear, and make sure all equipment is in good condition. By staying alert and careful, we can avoid problems and ensure a safe working environment.

Safety is on seniors. Most Greek seniors dont like gloves. Cause by hand they feel better the tool... But this goes to more engineers than Greek one. Put cameras inside engine rooms to solve PPE
