This step is the most critical one in driving change. Without context,understanding of current state, and identifying gaps, it is impossible to change what you don’t know. New technology is evolving businesses everyday but is it actually being adopted to its full potential is the issue with change. In order to do “what”, there is need to understand the “why”. Often times, organizations fail at the initial assessment of why change is needed but it is the most critical step of the process.

By conducting an IT audit, find out what’s working what’s not, evaluate equipment utilization and software implementation plans. Assess every role within IT ops, and determine if time is being allocated properly for systems maintenance and upgrade requirements. Don’t rely on internal resources to conduct the audit; bring in a trusted and knowledgeable outside resource. Once complete state your findings and make recommendations for improved performance and administrative efficiency.

Desde mi experiencia lo más importante es dar a conocer el "para que" se esta haciendo el cambio y cual es la ganancia de los colaboradores. Cuando ellos puedan visualizar un futuro seguro para que hagan su trabajo de forma diferente y novedosa se comprometerán con los nuevos conocimiento para realizar su trabajo de una forma nueva.

Planning properly for resourcing, budget, timeline, communication, and change management will drive success.

La comunicación es importante y por esto se deben abrir canales bilaterales que puedan dar apertura a que los colaboradores pregunten y expresen desde sus percepciones lo que sienten y ven que serán los cambio para ellos así, se modificara cualquier sentimiento de incertidumbre y/o negación por no saber que esta pasando con los cambios que hace la organización.

Communication is the only key for any success. Whether it’s professional or personal, the only way to understand each other in any environment is through clear communication. Communication works if it is delivered accurately for the audience to absorb the message. If communication does not reach the audience, it leads to failure in understanding. Driving success within organizations, expectations should be clearly delivered and reiterated for everyone to know roles and responsibilities.

Establish a support system where team members can ask questions and get timely responses. This could be through regular check-ins, a dedicated support team, or a chat channel.

An organization can bring the most robust technology to drive success but if it’s not being utilized to its full potential, it’s useless. For this reason, it is essential not only to train and support, but to consistently monitor improvement of the technologies introduced to be successful.
