Through my experience in donor relations, I've learned the value of crafting a compelling narrative that showcases how your programs and the donor's mission can achieve a synergistic effect, ultimately leading to the realization of both parties' objectives.

Some people think, that donor is someone who has lot of wealth and is not problem for him, to "give away some of that wealth" as a donation. This approach is wrong. Donors are seeking meaning which they will support. Meaning comes from their personal values and belives or their company values and needs. Figure out that meaning and values- and you have a donor.

Also, find out in his or her Philanthropic work, if the person is engaged in a meaningful way. In this way you may be much better prepared to connect with the person and do a face to face solicitation.
