This could prove to be the biggest motivator in startups - the chance to be a part of something bigger. One way to clearly articulate the vision is to write down everything you want to achieve - whether in bullet points, doodles or just words. Then slowly prune it down to one phrase. This phrase should 1. Capture the essence of what you are building in everyday language 2. Must only have 'The What' and not 'The How'. 3. Should have 0 technical words or jargon And then repeat this short phrase again and again and again.

In my experience of building startups, the speed which you make decisions with must be fast. You must make informed decisions after proper analysis and information on all perspectives. Because time is of essence to both mankind and businesses, you cannot afford to delay or prolong decisions unneccessarily.

Often in startups, there are no right decisions. It's important to make a decision quickly with the data that you have with you. If you are tempted to push the decision, ask yourself whether it is because taking time will help you make a better decision, or because you are afraid of making a wrong decision.

If your team asks you to make decisions, it is helpful to teach them to provided the right amount of information. What are possible solutions? What are pros and cons for each? what would they do? In my experience leader was valuable time by not being informed in a proper way. When you encourage your employees to think about possible solutions beforehand they will develop a greater skill set that at some point you can delegate some decisions to them.

Im my view, another very crucial aspect for any founder or executive is to be able to focus and scale up the major solution that the Company is trying to building. With funding coming in and a good run way in Bank account, founders tend to shift focus from 'what they are solving' to 'what they can also solve' ... So unless the exisiting business achieves stablity, dont take the risk of un-related diversification .. have seen many founders , entrepreneurs going south just because of this reason... Don't be in hurry to build a new castle unless you have finished building existing one !!!

Cash flow management is one of the most important tasks of a start-up. running out of money is one of the biggest reasons of failure. Train your team to find possible solutions and find the most econimc (ROI). The first instinct is often to hire more people, but the solution should be in stremlining the processes. Also the purchasing competence may need to be improved (stock turnover, payment terms).

To enhance team dynamics, prioritize diversity and inclusion in your hiring process. Seek candidates from varied backgrounds and experiences to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table. Have a clear idea about the skills your organization needs. You also should included the long-term view on that decision. Be aware that every new hiring will have an impact on your culture and team dynamics. If you hire a non-fit don't be afraid to separate during probation period. Otherwise it will become toxic for your team.

In my experience, I constantly remind builders and top executives that we are building for users and NOT investors. We must stick to the vision of solving the problem we intend to solve as a product of technology and innovative processes. Users and customers are the integral parts of businesses. Their feedback and satisfaction guarantee the lifetime of the product.

Start a Voice of Market (VoM) channel on your internal messaging tool. Drive anyone customer-facing to post their meeting notes into the channel and triage it weekly. In the triage session, ensure anyone who posts gets praised for sharing, ask follow-up questions on the post and take actions that can be fed back to the channel. As your organisation begins to scale refine this approach, with segmentation between customer and user feedback, or other different groups e.g. use case. Integrations between CRM and User Feedback tools can also take the manual work out of posting.

You should be clear of which skills you are going to learn and which not. sometimes it makes more sense to hire an expert instead of wasting time on learning a skill. Especially if you are not enjoying it. As the start-up executive you should focus on developing your business and not on day-to-day troubleshooting
