I believe technology is a present and future. We need to make sure all of our students are tech savvy and proficient. This is because our world has become a tech world and to make sure they have enough knowledge will make them more qualified for employment in the future. However, I also believe nothing can replace the hands on teacher.

One thing I found helpful is drawing in the expertise of your early-adopters, giving them the chance to share their experiences with educational technology in teachers-teach-teachers opportunities, such a as at PD Days. This has been helpful to my staff in my career in leadership, and has given these staff members a greater sense of ownership of their work.

Curiosity in children is naturally very high also the children of current generations are highly exposed to technologies which means children have no fear of technology but it’s the teachers who have to adapt to the technologies and find ways to use it to their advantage while being in the classroom. I have seen teachers struggling when in classes and young children coming forward and helping teachers overcome simple technical glitch. So to teach today’s children its teachers who have to embrace the technology in semi urban areas and all stake holders (students, teachers, school management and parents) in rural areas…

Trying to ‘keep pace’ with technology tools in education is a monumental task on its own and unproductive. Selecting the right tools for the learning that is intended so students are taught to use tools meaningfully is more beneficial in the long run.

Being able to unlearn is an important skill in today’s world. Reflecting on ourselves as learners and continuing to develop knowledge and skills that add value to the lives of others and improve the world around us, is vital.

An educator must stay current. Things are changing rapidly. I found it critical to attend conferences that will keep you abreast of changes in your area. If you are involved in special education, it is imperative to attend a law conference annually. The regulations change often, and it is difficult to stay informed. Reading journals helps to keep you informed of the new ideas. Networking with your peers can give you new insights. Informative trainings can provide critical information You must stay fresh in your approach. Teachers will follow leaders who can speak and act on the relevant innovations that come at us rapidly. Be in charge. Move your district, school or classroom in the right direction.

All I can say about this is one can never have too much knowledge. I believe to stay on top of education. Every teacher needs to continue theirs in one way or another.

My teaching experience we have always collaborate with grade levels and all grade levels. I believe it would be interesting to collaborate with people from other countries to see their teaching techniques and what’s expected.

Each child is unique with his/ her own pace of learning, we all have heard and know it for ages but when it comes to teaching the approach is “one solution fits all”…. It’s time to create lesson plans, content and teaching methodologies to personalise learning for each child only then we will be able to see each child excelling… With technology it has become much easier to map learn journey of each student also to create interesting and appealing learning/ teaching strategies to help child enjoy and learn simultaneously….

Yes, it can be totally tracked computer wise. However, as an educator, I also believe each teacher should know her students, their levels and how to best approach their learning experiences.

I do not have a lot to say on this subject because I teach kindergarten. However, we do a lot of art and expression in my classroom. My phrase is always art is art. I say that to each student, even though it may not represent what we were trying to achieve.

I encourage my staff to take risks, as it is through risks that we grow, even (and especially) when we fail. I like to model risk-taking with lessons and activities with my staff, showing that I walk the walk of this request, making it a safer space for them to do so.

I love the idea of peer observation, not for evaluation purposes but for the purpose of growth for both peers in the process. This takes a lot of setup in developing a safe space for sharing feedback, as well as training for all staff on how to give and receive feedback as adults, but this is such a powerful piece of the reflect and adapt mindset that leads to great, positive outcomes. Start small, within your PLCs. That is where I began with my teams. Teachers now call out to everyone “hey, I’m doing a lesson on this and would love feedback. Anyone available to come observe?”
