Here's how you can smoothly upgrade to new technology in Telecommunications Systems.

While in the assessment phase I have found it helpful to have 2 lists. One for needs (must haves) and another for wants (nice to haves). This helps focus the project and keeps it (hopefully) within scope. Having this wishlist also helps with technology evaluation, especially when companies are open with their development road maps. You have to consider future needs as well as current ones.

To sum up the key requirements, we need a road map!!! This journey will take more than we think to achieve but we must go through the hole story step by step to be prepared.

Always begin with a thorough audit of the existing network infrastructure, analyzing performance metrics. Evaluate hardware for end-of-life status and software for security vulnerabilities and compliance with standards like 3GPP. Utilize network monitoring tools to conduct a detailed traffic analysis to understand usage patterns and identify bottlenecks. In order to make our plan work, we need to make sure of two main points. The first one is the budget and the second one is synchronisation. The domino's of the plan must match as it goes through the steps otherwise it will run out of budget and fail eventually.

User Training. In addition to testing the new technology, providing thorough user training is essential for a successful upgrade. Ensure that all relevant staff members receive comprehensive training on how to use the new system effectively. This training should cover not only the basic functionalities but also any advanced features or best practices. It is suggested that before running and testing and getting feedbacks in real time, several virtual scenarios must pass the tests. The database of virtual system feedbacks will help the process to recover from or run through the problems.

I believe that training the hole system is an absolute must in order to achieve a successful transition. The key for this training to be carried away is a real project. To solve a real issue with collaboration and information about the services, makes the learning more efficient.
