As professionals, we serve in various sectors and have different goals. So, I believe that we should know which reason motivates us more to do our job. It could be anything! For instance, I love my job because I like to meet people and organizational development-related work always attracts me. As an HR generalist, I have the privilege to work on several crucial areas of HRD. And undoubtedly, it is very challenging to keep balance while making decisions. The most important indicators of your passion are your ability to explain with examples how much you follow the trends and competitors in the market, how much you have reflected these in your work in the past, and your ability to summarize all of this data-wise. How well you know and/or interested a subject is proportional to how simply and structured you can explain it. Passion fosters continuity. Thus, it indicates to the other party that you do not approach this just as a work, you look at the subject from a larger perspective naturally.

The perfect marriage will be always between your desires and what the market demands. When one of them pulls the cord harder, your career (and your pocket) will suffer the consequences. I've found that interviews go best when they're a conversation that goes both ways. You want to bring your whole self to any interview, and then to any company you are thinking about joining. Be yourself up front, ask and answers questions and stay curious.

Sharing relevant experiences through story telling and interweaving it with what they are looking for I found not has many benefits. In my experience it helped me get comfortable in the interview process and it made a very positive impression to the interview panel.

I worked for my father-in-law doing Powdercoating, the work was slow but I knew that there was market and demand for it, so I took it upon myself to start hitting the socials and advertising and marketing, within a year we were able to buy a new building in the industrial park and also added a fabrication shop and a vinyl wrap shop as well, they are still swamped with the work, I left the company but they still use the contacts and business partners I met and created relationships with!

Be authentic. Know what you really want, your negotiables and non negotiables. Recently I’m approached by different companies. I know what can make me consider going back to corporate life. If the industry is not in my list - i politely decline. This shows respect as well cause I am not wasting their time.

Prepare thoughtful questions about the company’s role and future in the industry.Be Enthusiastic and Genuine - Let your natural interest and enthusiasm shine through without being overbearing. Highlight accomplishments that demonstrate your capability and relevance to the industry. Use industry-specific terminology accurately to show your familiarity and comfort in the field. These strategies will help convey your deep interest and readiness, positioning yourself as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic candidate.
