Here's how you can select a niche within the Life Coaching field.

This is definitely where I will start :) I started life coaching at 25 years old, when I was searching for what matters in my life. And it was intuitive for me to support clients like me, as they remind me of my search. 16 years old, I have deep dived into intimacy coaching, as after being through a number of failed relationships, I am in a better position to empathize with my clients’ struggle In all, there’s is no need to fixate in one area. As your passion and interest may fluctuate as you mature in life. Just go with something that fits well for now.

I have been actively pursuing the growth of our family business, as it remains a primary focus for me. I am dedicated to serving the community and navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the business world.

A good way to explore your passion for life coaching would be to observe how your interactions with your friends and family go on those topics. For example, if you believe that you are passionate about helping people navigate through their career choices. Observe your interactions with your friends and family on the topic of navigating careers. Does this conversation energise you? Do you feel genuinely happy and satisfied after having this conversation? If yes, then this could potentially be a good niche for you to begin with.

One of the most effective strategies for resolving various challenges in a business setting is to possess exceptional listening skills and a growth-oriented mindset.

This totally did not work for me. Executive coaching and performance coaching was in huge demand when I was in my 5th year as a coach. Hence, I joined the bandwagon. However, despite commanding a higher price point than life coaching, I felt that supporting my clients to pursue career success solely drains me. I was more into looking at life holistically, helping them be a better person, not just create results at work based on the KPI sent by the companies they worked in.

Knowing your Target Audience is important because it helps you to streamline your marketing & personal branding. Suppose your niche is relationship coaching. With this niche, you could possibly help anyone and everyone. Who doesn't need to improve their relationship, right? But without defining a TA, you could be screaming about your relationship coaching services to the whole world and no one would pay attention. Why? Because your messages won't be catered to them. How you communicate about relationship coaching with a college goer would be very different from how you'd do it with middle-aged adults. Hence, choosing the right TA is important. A good niche without a defined Target Audience will waste your time and efforts.

Analysing your competition, looking at their offers, these can give you cues about the gaps that you can Target. Especially if your niche is a fairly crowded one (eg, relationship coaching, executive coaching, etc), you can create a USP for yourself by identifying the gaps that your competitors might not be tapping on. For example, you might be able to find a lot of executive coaches, but you can choose to specialise in very specific challenges. Some examples could be:- ? Executive Coaching for Queer Professionals - helping them realise their Ambitions despite the stigma! ? Executive Coaching for CXOs who want to enhance their Emotional Intelligence & Effectively Lead Culturally Diverse Teams. And so on.

I chose Burnout Therapy as my niche because I had myself gone through a burnout. I knew what it felt like and what unique challenges you face while you're burnt out. This helps me to connect with my TA better. Taking cue from this, another good strategy of choosing your niche would be to select a niche in which you've had personal experience. Look back at your life, take a note of all the challenges you faced and overcame. So you think you'd be able to help others overcome similar problems? If yes, you have a niche!
