It can be new technology, new market, new customers… most of the time the “new” stuff is not completely new but coming from the ecosystem which is adjacent to your current experiences. So it should not be too hard to learn.

Learning is crazy important and to never stop learning really has to be part of your mindset. Don't look at books, courses, meet ups, webinars, podcasts as waste of resources. It adds up. In your mid to leadership stages, you'll start to realize there's a lot of noise out there so navigating and finding high value information - with practice is important. So don't just do "courses". Learn a skill and apply it as soon as you can. Write about it (even privately, not PM needs a blog). Every week if possible, set sometime on your calendar to learn something new. This is really important for me since honestly I don't seem to find the time with work, kids and trying to spend time outdoors, so having these timeblocks really help a lot.

You can read 100 books, taken 50 courses, but if that knowledge stays in your head, it is useless. Put your knowledge into practice and watch yourself grow. Apply what you learn in real life, fail, and try again.
