Here's how you can seamlessly integrate learning new supervisory skills into your daily routine.

By taking the time to reflect on supervisory interactions, challenges, decisions, and communication effectiveness, individuals can gain valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. As these daily reflections accumulate over time, they contribute to a deeper understanding of one's supervisory style and its impact on the team. Ultimately, embracing reflection as a powerful tool can lead to continuous growth and improvement in one's role as a supervisor.

Daily reflection allows for introspection. Taking a moment to reflect on yesterday sets a better tune for today, it allows us to examine ourselves and our teams and work as supervisors. We will do better with a daily practice of reflection.

One of the things I have found helpful about supervisory role is the ability to use persuasive communication skills (PCS) to communicate the reasons why your team needs to comply with the management’s instructions you are trying to implement. PCS is an effective supervisory tool that helps the supervisor to explain why his or her subordinates need to do ABC to get XYZ; otherwise, the entire team members will be held accountable for their actions or inaction. PCS can also be used to convey risk treatment to convince the management team why the suggested treatment should be executed.

This is step one in supervisory skill set building because, you cannot supervise nothing. A supervisor is a boss in training and as such must be used to delegation and observation for team members to grow in career and personal skills. The fear of a task not being done accurately must be handled with clear instructions and permission to use one's initiative and also leave room for effective communication in the event where further clarity is need. The magic is "my office is open in case there is need for anything at any point".

Working on this has blended my team and others within my organization, product team getting feedback from the marketing team and engineering team getting feedback from the strategic team has built a solid communication in our organization and made us have a unified outcome in most projects. For the few moments we didn't fill this loop, it was a disaster and for most of the time, we had to laugh take a break going through the roadmap of previous projects. We will always come back to the key to team cohesion and success, "filling that loop, giving timely feedbacks".

It is a weakness in leadership role that we see daily. We will usually go for trainings or refresher courses for the shelves rather than the practice what we have learned, from the experience of letting go what one is accustomed to or modify it for better efficacy, we will rather just stick to the old. Maybe because it may require change of tools or equipment, making some modifications or adjustments to fit your organization into the new knowledge. This will need a regular contact with the learning resources to ensure minimal errors since it is being worked on as new knowledge.

Every supervisor knows better that, empathy is the regulator of work environment to a great extent. Our availability and attempt to understand what others are going through on the job and how best we can help improve their output is key in keeping a balanced and delicate work environment. We will achieve more with empathy as supervisors.

From the area of empathy.it help a supervisor to succeed . because through close interaction you know the mind set who is fit and who is demoralised, and you either ask him to take a rest for that day . People get hurt when their super visor, is one you can not approach.
