Because Conflict management is beyond the technical problem but the belief system of the individuals looking at the context. Understanding the belief system will help you to present the solution better. Another aspect that is often not used widely is how to communicate the solution. Understanding the sensory language of the individual among the dominant senses will help the PM communicate the solution better. For ex, if the person is more of a visual-sensory dominant person, explaining through visuals will get your results faster or using language will trigger visual sensory. Use EI tools effectively.

Hay un dicho "Donde hay un problema, falta una conversación". tambien me gusta usar la técnica del "cara a cara", conversar abiertamente con los implicados y buscar que se puedan indicar los puntos de expectativas, de fallas y de compromiso hacia realizar cambios. Dependiendo de la profundidad de la situación es posible requerir varias conversaciones y hacer seguimiento de los avances a la misma. Dejar compromisos en cada conversación y lograr pasar de lo personal a lo profesional rápidamente.

Any problem to be solved has two parts to it. One is Problem understanding and the other is the solution. All conflicts are not bad. So even before identifying the roots first understand what exactly is the conflict and the severity. Yes the understanding and alignment towards the scope, time and cost is what I noticed are mostly the reason for the conflicts in my experience. But I have also noticed most of the time with out anybody intervening it will be sorted out amicably.
