Not easy- especially if you expect to see each others for many many years (tenured faculty). Here are some tips- 1. Never fight unless you really have to- wars between faculty damages everyone and we should avoid it at all cost- 2. Always, listen and try to create solutions- Professors are hard to convince but listening and trying to create reasonable compromises will be fruitful. You just need to be super patient. 3. Be transparent and build trust. Always be clear and transparent. Build trust by being caring and helpful. When conflict arises, professors will listen to you more and things will likely to be controlled rather than explode- Always pray for wisdom and discernment- Love and serve- God bless us all-

Listening is an important skill to possess especially for the administrators. When there is conflict among the colleagues we must listen to both parties patiently .That will ease the tension to some extent. Preferably we should listen to the warring parties separately and then a meeting may be called to come up with a resolution.

You must appear unbiased and neutral to both parties only then will they open up. Being biased towards one party may make us lose sight of the focus. We must be very fair in our dealings.

Following up is required after having given a common goal. We have to check whether they have buried the hatchet or still simmering with rage. We should do this without their noticing it and come up with plan B if need be.
