Rejection is often a hard emotion to process and it can affect self confidence, cause frustration or even make your question if you’re in the right place. Often however, decisions about your progress in an organisation can be less about you and more about a range of situations not being aligned that are outside your control. Always ask for frank and honest feedback to understand why that alignment wasn’t correct for you. Taking that initiative makes your next decisions more powerful.

Always try to focus on positive comes while trying to learn from failures at the same time. This approach eventually will boost the confidence and will bring your best abilities forward.

I tend to read all of the CVs in full, trying to find something interesting. For instance, one of my docs was a crab man before he started his Med School. My icebreaking conversation started with asking him about that and how he transitioned from this rare specialty to a physician.

Physicians are trained to communicate in a a clear and concise way versus the narrative style of others. I have gained engagement and collaboration by adjusting my communication with physicians. In addition I blend in rationale to assure alignment in goals.
