Hmm…. I can’t imagine this being different than in other workplace setting but I would add one tip to the golf course context. When tough conversations occur you have the opportunity to walk along your colleague and discuss the issue. Side by side walking allows for the absence of direct eye contact and deescalates tension and anxt. Try it!

I agree that feedback loops are critical to continued growth and success, especially when involved with complex systems such as managing a golf course. It is critical that management listen to the feedback coming from their team, which will allow them to provide better solutions. The feedback must go both ways though. It's not just about getting feedback, but also providing a culture of open communication that reduces the employer/ employee power dynamic. Everyone knows who calls the shots and that's ok, but everyone also has to feel respected by the one calling the shots.
