Address conflicts quickly and fairly, focusing on solutions rather than blame. Cross functional collaboration is all about managing conflicts. Rest everything can be taken care of. To manage conflicts you will need EQ skills and the ability to manage conflicts. Open dialogues help you stay on track. I will always prefer open dialogues over diplomacy. They foster a positive and healthy relationship with stakeholders. Remember, the conflict is not between 2 stakeholders at a personal level, the conflict is always between what is a better approach to do something.
