Alot of digital softwares are available in 2024 so the instant vertual communication are very easy now. These are as below Instant massaging tools alike Whatsaap, MS Team and email etc. Video Conferencing thru zoom, MS team, Skype, GMeet Collaborative work projects on Microsoft 365 and Google work space and docs etc. These are sufficient digital tolls which are being used very effectively to full fill the virtual communication in lean manufacturing operations.

Virtual meetings should always be very clear and well-defined. They must include clear agendas and a review of results. It's crucial to ensure these meetings are short and productive; otherwise, they can be a total waste of time for everyone and fail to effectively address the necessary points.

In my experience, the hybrid style has become increasingly friendly and effective. It combines the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of occasional in-person interactions, providing a balanced approach that enhances productivity and collaboration.

For example, IoT devices provides instant notifications and updates from the production floor, allowing for immediate interventions when issues arise. The implementation of real-time production planning systems offer continuous visibility into production schedules, inventory levels & machine performance, enabling more informed decision-making & efficient resource allocation. Besides, SCADA for IIoT can enhance real-time monitoring and control of MFG. processes.

Both parties must deploy the same metrics for measuring processes or KPI performance. Needless to say they must be used the same software and updated revision to measure results . The objectives is to minimize variation.

PDCA ist die "Mutter aller Feedback-Schleifen". Bei #Kaizen oder #LEAN Aktivit?ten sehe ich immer wieder gro?e Entt?uschung, wenn eine Ma?nahme nicht sofort den gewünschten Erfolg bringt. Mich erschüttern solche vermeintlichen Rückschl?ge nicht. Sie zeigen nur, dass das Problem noch nicht richtig verstanden wurde. Schulung alleine reicht meiner Erfahrung nach nicht. Unternehmen, die #LEAN oder #TPM erfolgreich eingeführt haben, haben auch Systeme entwickelt, die es erm?glichen, die Anwendung des Gelernten zu überprüfen. Das k?nnen Supervisionen, #TWI oder #JobInstructions sein. Für Unternehmen, die nicht in der Lage sind, solche Systeme aufzubauen empfehle ich, dass Schichtleiter oder Bereichsleiter Zeit für Trainings freischaufeln. Jeder Bedienfehler sollte durch ein Training bek?mpft werden und nicht durch eine Schulung. Es mangelt nicht am Wissen sondern an der Routine meiner Erfahrung nach.

It's important to remember several key points: 1) Establish metrics for relevant activities. 2) Set targets for each of these metrics or KPIs. 3) Monitor these metrics and implement PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to address any deviations. 4) Conduct comparisons and evaluate improvements and results. Continuous improvement and the development of metrics are crucial for assessing performance in any aspect.

It is important to understand the real meaning of Lean Manufacturing: Identifying and mitigating bottlenecks. When looking at the whole system from orders to fulfillment, finding and improving bottlenecks is how we convert production to cash in the most efficient way. A truly lean system improves quality, consistency, labor efficiency, and cost. Virtual collaboration tools must identify the process steps (Process Map), track the KPIs and other metrics which impact the Goal (Quality, Production, WIP, and Inventories), and identify those team members who have Process responsibility for each step. Then, as bottlenecks are identified, action items can be generated collaboratively to improve.
