Layoffs can be difficult to deal with, and it’s someone no recruiter pray for, however, the best thing to do when this happens rather than jump at pursuing other opportunities immediately, is to take the time re-assess yourself in terms of your career goals, how far you have met them, the difficulties faced in meeting them, your strengths, your weaknesses and among others, the network you developed. Having a holistic view of this can help direct you better on how to network and pursue other opportunities or even start up something.

What were some of the important steps you took during your search that you feel attributed to success.
