Nursing is a great career from which to retire! That’s an odd statement…but it’s true! As nurses, we have had so many different career paths open to us & we are quite used to being open-minded. This will spill over into retirement. First, consider your passions. I think that’s important: if you love your work, it’s not work. Be open to things that are outside of healthcare as well. Think of this as “You2.0”. Bring your honed critical thinking skills to any table & you’ll be seen as an asset. (I do suggest keeping licensure valid) As a nurse, you’re great at setting goals with actionable plans. This makes you a great fit for leadership, teaching, and entrepreneurship. Your options were endless in nursing, just as they are in retirement.
