The most important thing is to constantly remain “relevant” to your industry. All industries have evolved immensely over the last 3 or 4 decades, and the impact of technology on industry sectors will continue with massive change in the next 2 decades. Remaining “relevant” includes keeping in touch with these changes, identifying your key skills technology cannot replace and are typically not traits nor taught to the emerging leaders from Millennials to Gen Z. Back-to-basics skills that over-reliance on Technology in the last 20 years has dulled these being taught. The recent global outage affecting all industries was a perfect example - if this had lasted a week, how many businesses could have operated without older methods?
