It is never advisable to rely heavily on technology. There should always be Plan B. Some of the things you can do are... #1 Rehearse your speech out loud, like you're talking to a friend. This helps you memorize key points in case the slides don't work. #2 Have a printed copy of your slides or notes, in case the projector goes dark. #3 Don't overload your slides with too much text. Use pictures and big words so everyone can see from far away. #4 Test your microphone and presentation software beforehand. If something goes wrong, stay calm and explain it to the audience. Most importantly, maintain your composure and be positive. No matter what happens, take a deep breath and deal with any challenge calmly.

Relying heavily on anything but your own self in public speaking can have its pitfalls. And technology is no exception. Tech issues are par for the course. They are inevitable going to happen. You have to learn to not lean on tech, even in this age of "everything tech". You should know your stuff. If the power point goes out, if you lose your slides you should still be able to deliver. Tell better stories, and you won't have to rely on tech as much. Be open to being vulnerable, think about your life. What stories are you not telling. Which stories would actually go great with your content, but you show pretty slides instead? You are the cake, tech is the icing. Don't allow it to trick you into thinking otherwise. Stay focused on delivering value the tech isn't the main attraction.

I choose to fight the urge to add too many AI features. I keep my message simple and clear. There is nothing worse than seeing your AI glitch on a large screen while presenting your speech. It won't make you look like a knowledgeable expert.
